Course Description:

…Instructor will use these creative tools and exercises to assess Artist’s strengths and areas for growth.
MONOLOGUE

Learners will be asked to prepare a 1-2 minute Monologue (memorized) for presentation at beginning of workshop. The instructor will critique and give individual notes. Monologues will also be used to help the actor judge their skill-level as well as their readiness for professional level work and training.

IMPROV

Learners will take part in fun and challenging Improvisational Scene Work in order to nurture and develop  spontaneity, listening skills, honesty, and  movement in performance.  And to celebrate the fundamental importance of working/creating “in the moment”.

Course Description:

…Instructor will use these creative tools and exercises to assess Artist’s strengths and areas for growth.
MONOLOGUE
Artists are asked to prepare and present one 2-3 minute monologue for critique and re-direct from the Director’s perspective.
SCENE STUDY
As part of an assigned team, Artists will develop and present one Film/TV or Theatrical Scene for critique and re-direct from the Director’s perspective.
POETRY & PROSE
Poetry will be used to evaluate and enhance language mastery.  Artists are asked to discover 1-2 poems (no more than 1 page in length) for Oral Interpretation (reading aloud) in group.  *Poems do not need to be memorized.
IMPROV

In order to strengthen spontaneity, honesty, and natural movement, Artists will create improvised characters.   These exercises, coupled with Instructor notes, will remind and reinforce the Artist’s understanding of their obligation to live/work “in the moment”.
